ASUS ROG PHONE 2: Asus is going to release its next-generation gaming beast smartphone - the Asus Rog Phone 2, which will be the successor to the previous Asus Rog Phone 1. The Rog series is known for targeting the mobile gaming community. Asus Rog 1 did great and satisfied the gaming users. Now, Rog 2 is all set to beat the benchmark. The phone is said to be the first from Asus to bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. But is this premium device an all-rounder? Let us find out in detail.

- The Asus Rog Phone 2 is a big phone that makes up a good look for a gaming smartphone. The phone feels a bit bulky in hand however, the weight distribution is quite good. The hard look of Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with the latest Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The device will be launched only in black color.
- The right side of the phone contains volume rocker and power on-off buttons. The Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with an astonishing 4 noise cancellation mics. The top side of the phone contains one microphone. The left contains the sim card tray and a side USB Type C Port cum proprietary connector for attaching Asus accessories. The sim tray is of dual nano type. The right side contains power on-off button, volume rockers and air triggers along with a noise cancellation mic. The bottom side contains USB Type C port, a 3.5 mm jack and two noise cancellation mics. The back is a glass back carrying the dual rear cameras and the beautiful RGB Rog Logo.
- Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with a 6.59" FHD+ AMOLED display providing the device an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This is the first smartphone with 120 Hz panel, HDR 10 and 240 Hz response time. The new trend of the in-display fingerprint sensor is followed.
- Also, the Asus Rog Phone 2 connects Wifi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, Dual 4G/LTE, NFC and has all necessary sensors.

Although, the Asus Rog Phone 2 is a beast that shows no possible weakness yet the price range at which it is expected to come is a bit bothering. We can not ignore the fact that at such price range one can easily buy a gaming laptop or invest some more to better buy a PC! So, for users that are a bit tight on budget, the launch price of this phone may prove to be a disappointment.

- Though Asus Rog Phone 2 is a gaming device yet the company has given its attention to the device cameras. Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with dual rear cameras comprising of 48 MP (f/1.79) using a Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13 MP ultrawide sensor. The front is a 24 MP (f/2.0) selfie camera.
- The camera includes all required necessary features expected in a flagship-level smartphone. The device captures beautiful images with good detail, high dynamic range and accurate colors. Natural and artificial textures looked great in most shots. The wide-angle shots provided us the claimed 125-degrees field of view. Image stabilization and edge detection work well. The night performance of this phone is also appreciable and the noise was mostly under control. The front selfie camera also captured decent photos.
- The Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with the latest Android 9 Pie and security patches. Asus had a bad record of not providing its users with timely security updates. We hope they fix this issue at least for its next-generation flagship-level gaming smartphone!

- The Asus Rog Phone 2 is powered by the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor with two variants of 8GB and 12GB RAM. The power of SD 855+ is clearly visible while working on the phone. Even after opening 50 apps in background switching between them was smooth. It also comes with the UFS 3.0 storage type which is the first smartphone to do so after OnePlus.
- The gaming performance of the smartphone is excellent. The device is a true gaming beast and this can easily be seen while working with the phone. High-end games such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends worked on Highest graphics settings. The experience of playing them was butter smooth and no lag was experienced whatsoever. The device comes along with many accessories that also include a cooler fan with liquid cooling technology that does not allow the device to get heat up while gaming providing a beautiful gaming experience.
- Asus Rog Phone 2 comes with a massive 6,000 mAh of battery which is worth appreciating. The device is also capable of handling heavy usage and lasts long enough. Though the device carries a big battery yet, it charges pretty quickly with the standard 30W hypercharger. It took us only 59 mins to completely charge the phone which is impressive!
