But this time it has fully planned to conquer the mid-range Indian market with the launch of its latest Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. REDMI NOTE 7 PRO DESIGN
- This time Xiaomi has worked too much on the hardware of the phone as it very well understands its competitors in this price range which includes the likes of Nokia and Motorola. The glass-sandwich design provides a premium look to the phone along with the protection of Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides.The camera bump, is however, thick enough and looks old fashioned. As a result, protective cases becomes an essential for this phone. The device comes with Space Black ,

- The fingerprint sensor and the volume button are located at their conventional places.The left side contains a hybrid Dual Nano-sim tray which can also take a micro-SD card of capacity 256 GB.
- Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 6.3-FHD+ display with a aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The top contains a so called 'Dotch-Notch'. The bottom comes with a USB Type-C Port and a 3.5mm jack.

- One of the main reason behind the Redmi Note 7 Pro being a killer device is its cameras. The company even claimed that the camera performance of this phone can easily comepte against the likes of iPhone XS Max ! The device comes with a 48-MP rear camera using the flagship Sony IMX586 Sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and 1.6μm pixel size which is accompanied by a 5 MP depth sensor.
- The features include AI Portrait Mode , AI Studio Lighting, AI Dynamic Bokeh, slow-mo and 4K Video recording.The device captures beautiful images with good detail , high dynamic range and punchy colors. The Bokeh and Portrait mode shows a decent edge detection. The Night mode caputres ample deatils at low lighting however adding some grainy textures which is justified by the price of this smartpone. Redmi Note 7 Pro can shoot FHD and HD videos at full 60fps. Image stablization works well.
- The Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on MIUI 10 with latest Android 9 Pie and February Security Patch. The Home Screen contains no App drawer instead swiping up on the home screen opens the content feed of MI Browser. Swiping right brings up the shortcuts page which is user customisable. As usual, the Redmi Note 7 Pro brings preinstalled bloatwares with MIUI that includes in-house apps such as Mi Browser, Mi community , Mi Video , Mi pay etc. and many third party applications such as Daily Hunt, Opera News, ShareChat etc.
- Apart from traditional softwares, the Redmi Note 7 Pro includes a "Second Space" feature that lets user create a second user to segregate personal and professional content into different profiles. The second profile usually remains hidden until someone enters a specific password , lock screen pattern or fingerprint to open it.There are options to mask the notch enabling a full screen mode.
REDMI NOTE 7 PRO PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY LIFE
- The Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor with two variants of 4GB and 6GB RAM. The power of SD 675 is clearly visible while working on the phone. Even after opening 20 apps in background switching between them was smooth.
- The gaming performance of the smartphone is commendable. High end games such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends worked on High graphic settings. However, ocassional sttuters and frame drops occured in game which forced us to play in medium settings thereby, enhancing the experience.
- Even though the Redmi Note 7 Pro shows a beautiful gaming performance however the device gets remarkable hot after heavy usage of high end games for a longer duration. It became so hot that we had to quit our game and keep the phone aside for cooling off which is undesirable and annoying.
- With light to moderate usage, we concluded that the massive 4000 mAh battery can easily last a day or two. Heavy usage drains the battery fastly but the Redmi Note 7 Pro supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology, however, a separate charger needs to be bought since the 10W charger that comes does not support Quick Charge 4.0. The 10W charger took approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent which in todays era is a lot.

The base variant of 4GB/64GB comes at a price of just 13,999 INR which is was a shocker for everyone. The higher version of 6GB/128GB comes at a price of 16,999 INR.
