REALME X :  Realme is back again now with its first ever flagship smartphone - Realme X. It tries to balance that out with a modern, notch-free design, pop-up selfie camera, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The company claims this to be the best latest Flagship smartphone. But is there any truth to it or the claims were made just to create a fuzz ? Let us find out more about this smartphone in detail.

  • Realme X comes with a plastic back design that looks a bit sluggish in my opinion and removes the premium look of the phone. The protection of Gorilla Glass 5 is present on both sides.The device comes in Space Blue and
  • Polar white variants. A recent claim, to add Onion and Garlic color variants, is made by the officials.
  • The fingerprint sensor is absent as the new Realme X features in display finger print sensor. The volume rocker are located in the left which felt quite unusual as generally they are located in right .The right side contains power button and a hybrid Dual Nano-sim tray which can also take a micro-SD card of capacity 256 GB. There is no dedicated sim card slot.The bottom contains of Type-C USB port and speaker grill. The top contains noise cancellation mic and a beautiful pop-up camera ! 
  • Realme X comes with a 6.53 HD+ display with a aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The top contains a 'Waterdrop Notch' which adds to the beauty of the device but also leads to the removal of notification LED which is a notable point.
  • Realme X include Dual 4G with VoLTE, dual-band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, support for GPS and usual suite of sensors. The phone, however, does not have a FM radio.

  • Realme X comes with the new trend of Popup cameras. The device comes with a 48MP (f/1.7) + 5MP (f/2.4)  rear camera using the flagship Sony IMX586 Sensor which is a big plus point of this phone. An LED flash accompanies it. The front camera is our 16MP (f/2.0) Popup camera that comes with the Sony IM471 Sensor.
  • The features include Portrait Mode, Bokeh Mode and slow-mo Video recording.The device captures beautiful images with good detail , high dynamic range and punchy colors. The Bokeh and Portrait mode shows a decent edge detection. In low light, the device caputres ample deatils however adding some grainy textures which is justified by the price of this smartpone. Image stablization works well.
  • The Realme X comes with latest Android 9 Pie and June Security Patch. The skin is also the latest known as ColorOS 6.0.

  • The Realme X is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor with three variants of 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM. The processor works fine and we found no problem in general or moderate tests.
  • The gaming performance of the smartphone is appreciable. High end games such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends worked on High graphic settings. However, ocassional sttuters and frame drops occured in game which forced us to play in medium settings thereby, enhancing the experience.The device comes with a 'Performance mode' which is a good news for gamers.
  • Realme X comes with a 3765 mAh battery which can't resist the fact that little work should have been done to bring a 4000 mAh battery. With light to moderate usage, we concluded that the 3765 mAh battery can easily last a day. Heavy usage drains the battery fastly but the Realme X supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.


REALME X PRICE

The base variant of 4GB/64GB comes at a price of 16,999 INR which according to me is too much. The higher version of 8GB/128GB comes at a price of 19,999 INR. A special edition of 8GB/128GB called the Spiderman: Far from Home is also available.

WHO SHOULD BUY REALME X ?

The Realme X shows a good performance thanks to latest SD710 processor. So, for Gamers and Realme fans, this phone will be a must buy. If you are a photography love, then this device gives you a flagship level sensor that will surely satisfy you. Realme is a company that provides its security updates regularly. So for tech geeks, that is a considerable factor.

WHO SHOULD NOT BUY REALME X ?

Though the device comes with latest technologies associated with it. Yet, the device is too overpriced in my opinion and not in Flagship level competition  which includes better smartphones from Xiaomi and Honor. Also, the absence of notification LED is a considerable factor for some users before buying this phone. Hence, one must consider other options in the same specifications range. I would suggest one to check out our opinion on mid range Redmi Note 7 Pro which i think is definately a better option.
